50 Years

Not a lot of companies can say they have been around for 50 Years! Well here is one. Good or bad I think they are here to stay.

A Little Ann Landers For The Day

As 2010 comes to a close we start to think about new year resolutions. My motto for 2010 was and will remain. "God is going to do exceedingly abundantly more than you could ever ask think imagine" Ephesians 3:20. He surprises me everyday with new joys.

Well on my way to work this morning I heard the guest host on the Bill Bennett show give these 10 commandments of How to get along with people. While I already try and do most, I will strive to add to the list all of them.

I have to add one more thing. A while back a boss of mine drilled into the sales people. "If your not early, your late". (military guy) While I strive to always be early, I will work harder on my punctuality. I guess it's one of those pet peeves for me. Years ago I knew a girl that was late for everything. Her attitude was "I'm worth waiting for" Hummphhh don't be like that, you might get left behind.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
of
HOW TO GET ALONG WITH PEOPLE

1. Keep skid chains on your tongue. Always say less than you think. Cultivate a low, persuasive voice. How you say it often counts more than what you say.

2. Make promises sparingly and keep them faithfully, no matter what the cost.

3. Never let an opportunity pass to say a kind and encouraging word to or about somebody. Praise good work, regardless of who did it. If criticism is needed, offer it gently, never harshly.

4. Be interested in others---their pursuits, their work, their homes and families. Make merry with those who rejoice, and weep with those who mourn. Let everyone you meet, however humble, feel that you regard him or her as a person of importance.

5. Don’t burden or depress those around you by dwelling on your minor aches and pains and small disappointments. Remember, everyone is carrying some kind of burden, often heavier than your own.

6. Keep an open mind. Discuss, but don’t argue. It is the mark of a superior mind to be able to disagree without being disagreeable.

7. Let your virtues, if you have any, speak for themselves. Refuse to talk of other’s vices. Discourage gossip. It is a waste of valuable time, and can be extremely destructive.

8. Be careful of another’s feelings. Wit and humor at another person’s expense may do more damage than you will ever know.

9. Pay no attention to disparaging remarks. Remember, the person who carried the message may not be the most accurate reporter in the world, and things become twisted in the retelling. Live so that nobody will believe them.

10. Don’t be too eager to get the credit due you. Do your best, and be patient. Forget about yourself, and let others “remember”. Success is much sweeter that way.

Today is the DAY!

It's finally here!! Election day! Yea finally the backbiting and misleading ads will be over. You know the ones that say "that" candidate wants you to pay 23% in taxes. Hello Democrat committee that is sponsoring this ad. Under you we pay way way more then that!!! (I guess I should say "Surprise surprise another misleading ad") I would love to only pay 23% tax. Imagine getting a pay check of the actual amount you earned. No taxes taken out. Check out the truth at www.fairtax.com. Everyone should pay their share!!!

How did I get off on that. The truth is after today no more ads!!! Yea, because tomorrow the TOY ads will begin. Bwaaahhhhaaa and you thought all the mind bending was over.

Something to LOVE and Something to AVOID

Several months ago when I started my diet I learned about the Stevia plant and all it's natural goodness in making my tea sweet. Well, I was lead to the product called "Truvia". Love it, love it. You can now get it in a scoop-able container and not have to mess with the mess that all those little packets cause.





Well I thought if Stevia products are good then other brands should be good also. Not so!!! I bought this other brand at Walmart called "Skoopz". This I would recommened staying away from. A glass that would take 2 Truvia packets to make sweet, wasn't sweet enough with 6 of the Skoopz. When I opened a packet and tasted just the product it tasted like some manufactuing dust with a touch of sugar added in for good measure. Here is a picture so you can avoid it.




So from now on I will stick with straight Stevia (that I buy at Whole Foods) or Truvia.

You Get What You Pay For!

If it's one thing I have learned in my years the old saying "you get what you pay for" is so true. Especially when it comes to hair care! I've known for a long time to stay away from the cheaper shampoos and conditioners or the "grocery store" types. They contain waxy products that coat your hair and weight it down. I use Biologe products for shampoos.

But recently I came across a wonderful hairspray!! L'oreal Elnett in the gold can. I bought it at Target. Wow oh wow. I never knew a hairspray cold hold like this, without being a helmet head. It runs about $12 a can, but you know it will last for months. This holds everything in place. It also disappears with a brush stroke.
